Church donations, including Zhukova’s 198 desyatinas of land for Nilova Hermitage

Reports by the Chief Procurator of the Holy Synod to the Minister of Spiritual Affairs and Public Education seeking imperial permission to execute deeds for donations: 1) an inn, its buildings and ten desyatinas of meadowland donated by Putivl landowner Dmitry Brovtsyn to Glinskaya Hermitage, Kursk Diocese; 2) a watermill and four square sazhens of land donated by ensign’s wife Fedosya Sushkulova to Trinity Church in Kashira, Tula Diocese; 3) 25,500 rubles donated by Voronezh mayor Samuil Meshcheryakov to various churches; 4) Colonel Bernikov’s substantial donation towards the cathedral in Gori, Tiflis Governorate; 5) 10,000 rubles donated by Kashin merchant Ivan Dobrynin to decorate the local Resurrection Cathedral and Entry into Jerusalem parish church; 6) a further 3,000 rubles donated by Voronezh mayor Samuil Meshcheryakov to various churches; 7) a letter from Ambrose, Bishop of Penza and Saratov, seeking an award for landowner Mikhail Andreyanov Ustinov for his devotion and donation to the church of Saratov’s newly established Transfiguration Monastery; 8) imperial permission for a deed covering 198 desyatinas donated to Nilova Hermitage by Vyshny Volochyok townswoman Zhukova; 9) a petition for a deed covering land donated in St Petersburg by merchants Kozulin and Kuvshinnikov to Konevsky Nativity Monastery for a chapel; 10) 25,000 rubles donated by an unidentified person in Nizhny Novgorod for widows, orphans and elderly clergy; 11) a deed covering land donated by Cossack Fyodor Yashchenko to Panfilovskaya Church in Lokhvitsa, Poltava Governorate; 12) a deed and subsequent private sale of a built-up plot donated by townsman Maxim Kazakov to Tula’s Peter and Paul Church; 13) a deed covering land donated by retired Guards Lieutenant Nikolai Zasetsky to the Church of the Resurrection on Bronnaya in Moscow’s Nikitsky deanery for a house for priests.
