Heritage research

Scientific research

Studying the factory’s history and fabric, the Zhuravets water regime and the estate park’s ecology to inform conservation decisions.

This is a catalogue of research tasks. Scope, researchers and budgets are determined separately for each goal; listing a task does not mean fieldwork has begun.

You can support a study once its budget is approved and fundraising opens. Archival and engineering work is linked to existing programmes, without collecting twice for the same result.

Factory

  • Factory and production history

A verified chronology and account of factory operations based on archival records.

  • Archaeological potential of the site

A preliminary assessment of whether archaeological investigation is needed and its scope.

    Subject to the initial survey

River

Park

  • Tree inventory

An individual tree map recording species, dimensions, condition, generations, historic and habitat value.

    Budget in preparation
  • Tree diagnostics and expert review

Individual assessments of disputed or potentially hazardous trees, with independent review of especially valuable specimens.
